In addition to K-12 schools, Kingwood is home to the Lone Star College system. Lone Star offers a two year program as well as extended courses for continuing education. Kingwood also has a great library.

Park and Ride: If you work downtown or some of the other business areas, you can take a relaxing commuter ride to work without doing the driving yourself. Houston Metro has a convenient location in the middle of Kingwood where you can ride the mass transit bus to the major employment areas in Houston.

The course at Oakhurst of Kingwood is a semi-private golf course where players can enjoy the 18 holes for a daily fee. There are other dailey-fee courses within a few minutes drive, including Kingwood Cove and the Cypresswood 3 courses.

Major Stores: Within a few miles, Deerbrook Mall has a Sears, Pennys, Dillards and other major stores. There are several super Walmarts, Targets, Home Depots and more within a few minutes of Kingwood.

Entertainment: Enjoy an onstage local performance of a well known play within Kingwood or watch a movie on one of 24 screens in the local movie theater. The downtown area is just a short drive away where you will find the Toyota Center (Rockets), Minute Maid Park (Astros) and Reliant Center (Texans)

Drive to the Beach: The beach in Galveston is just a little more than an hour away. Galveston is also home to the famous Schlitterbahn Waterpark as well as great dining and sightseeing.
